TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. — Tangipahoa Parish government officials say Eastern Heights Water Works has issued a boil water advisory for customers on their Sweetwater Road well in Loranger.
On Tuesday, company officials shut down the south well to allow the tank time to refill after freezing temperatures caused customers to run their faucets overnight. Only customers on the southern side of the Loranger/Independence area are impacted by the boil water advisory.
Residents in the advisory area are asked to boil any water they plan to use for at least three minutes. This includes water for drinking, diluting fruit juices, food preparation, and brushing teeth.
Samples will be submitted to state health officials for review, and the public will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
