NEW ORLEANS -- It was a bittersweet occasion Friday morning as the Eyewitness News team said their goodbyes to ten-year weather team veteran, Laura Buchtel.
I have some news to share - this is my last week at WWL-TV. It's been a crazy and fun 10 years. I'm not leaving Nola, just needed a change!

Laura served as a meteorologist at WWL-TV for 10 years and spent 12 years on TV forecasting the weather. Her time at WWL-TV was spent as the morning show meteorologist.
"I've made the tough decision to pursue some things outside of TV for now," she said during the Eyewitness Morning News. "It's just one of those things when you know that it's time. You've had a great 10 years here and you know there needs to be a new chapter."
Of course, it wouldn't be a proper send-off without some surprises.
