ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — Power outages were reported in St. Tammany, Washington, Jefferson and Orleans Parish on Saturday. While power was restored for some areas, others were still impacted.
Orleans
According to Entergy's outage map, 2,709 customers were without power in the Marigny and the Seventh Ward.
Entergy said the outage was caused by a broken utility pole and crews are working to fix it.
Jefferson
In Jefferson Parish, 2,273 customers did not have electricity near Veterans Boulevard.
St. Tammany
Power was restored for most customers in St. Tammany, according to Washington-St. Tammany Waste Coop.'s outage map.
At one point St. Tammany had 5,245 customers without power. According to the map, 227 people are impacted in St. Tammany.
A Cleco representative said "outages are a result of weather that moved through the area. We had about 5,000 reported outages. We have restored over half and crews are working on full restoration," in a statement.
Washington
At one point, 1,555 customers in Washington Parish did not have electricity.
The outage started around 6:39 p.m. and the cause is listed as unknown on Cleco's outage site.
Power is expected to be restored by 1 a.m., Cleco's map reported. For some customers, power was restored at 8:45 p.m.
Power is expected to be restored at 10 p.m., according to Entergy.
