Car hauler catches fire on I-59 southbound in Slidell, authorities say

Firefighters said the blaze also led to multiple grass fires.

SLIDELL, La. — A car hauler caught fire on I-59 southbound in Slidell Saturday afternoon, according to the St. Tammany Fire Protection District No.11.

Firefighters said the blaze also led to "multiple grass fires," in a Facebook post. The car hauler fire began around noon and the fires were under control before 3 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Our units along with St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 and Picayune Fire are working a car hauler fire on I-59 southbound near mile marker 11. One lane is open and the fire is under control. No injuries reported.
