Residents in part of St. Tammany need to boil their water before using it.
A boil water advisory is in place for the area between LA 59 and I-12 and Hoffman Road areas.
The Department of Utilities will shut off water service to customers so that crews can work on a water main.
The utility will cut service off again at 9:00 p.m. as repairs on the main will continue.
Once water service is restored, out of an abundance of caution and per Department of Health and Hospital regulations, a precautionary BOIL ADVISORY will be issued for the affected customers.
