Woman killed in fatal crash in St. Charles Parish, state police say

​Police said the driver involved was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

ST ROSE, La. — Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 39-year-old St. Rose woman early Wednesday morning.

According to LSP, the one-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 5:45 a.m. on Louisiana Highway 48 (River Road) near West Pin Oak Drive in St. Charles Parish when a 2013 GMC Acadia driven eastbound by Chantell Narcisse ran off the side of the road and struck a tree and ultimately a brick wall.

Police said Narcisse was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis.
