From the St. Bernard Parish Government:

St. Bernard Parish Government continues to work with the LA Department of Health to monitor water pressure in the parish. During the time of extremely high water usage, Government Officials urged residents and businesses to conserve water usage through Saturday morning.

St. Bernard Parish Government Water and Sewerage went into this event with their water reserve maxed out at 12 million gallons. We are currently producing more water than is being used. Our reserve supply is growing.

Residents and businesses heeded the requests of President McInnis and public officials and the water issue drastically improved immediately. If residents and businesses continue to conserve water through Saturday morning, the parish will avoid a boil water advisory.

President McInnis stated, “I would like to thank the businesses, residents, and employees of St. Bernard Parish for pulling together and stepping up for the good of our Parish. We always pull together in tough times. I’m honored to say I represent the people of St. Bernard. Thank all of you so much!”

Parish Government crews continue to work throughout the parish addressing broken water lines. Please call 504-271-1681 to report broken water lines.
