Coast Guard rescues four men in St. Bernard Parish

The Coast Guard and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries worked together to send a helicopter to the area.

ST BERNARD, La. — Incredible video shows the moments the New Orleans Coast Guard rescued four people who were stuck in the swamp off of St. Bernard Parish.

The Coast Guard and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries worked together to send a helicopter to the area.

Then, they used a basket to hoist the four men up from their boat to the chopper. On Wednesday, WWL Louisiana spoke to one of the guardsmen who assisted with the rescue.

"I think what's important is we work together as a crew, the two pilots, myself, and my flight mech, just coming up with a good plan," said Guardsmen Zac Ballossini. "We do a lot of training and practicing of evolutions, so we feel pretty comfortable I think in this situation."

The Coast Guard said the men were taken to a nearby marina with no injuries reported.
