LOUISIANA, USA — Burn bans have been lifted for residents in Ascension Parish and Tangipahoa Parish. The parishes announced the burn ban lifts this week.
Officials in Ascension Parish announced on Thursday, Oct. 12 that they lifted the ban at 5 p.m. They were the first in the region to exercise the ability to opt out of the statewide burn ban.
Over in Tangipahoa Parish, officials lifted the burn ban on Friday, Oct. 13. Parish President Robby Miller said "I reserve the right to reinstate the ban at a later date, if conditions warrant," in a post on the parish's Facebook page.
The burn ban has been in effect since August.
