RTA suspends streetcar line due to electrical issues

All riders should be redirected to lines 8, 55, and 91 to travel on Rampart Street
The city’s newest streetcar line was taken out of service after the Hard Rock Hotel collapse in 2019. RTA says it will start picking up passengers again this Sunday.

NEW ORLEANS — The Regional Transit Authority announced on Wednesday that a popular streetcar line will be suspended due to technical issues.

According to RTA, the streetcar service on line No. 46 will cease until further notice due to damage wiring to the streetcar signalization at Canal and North Rampart streets.

All riders should be redirected to lines 8, 55, and 91 to travel on Rampart Street.
