RTA offers free rides in honor of Rosa Parks Day

Officials said riders "can ride at no charge on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries."

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority offered free rides Sunday in honor of Rosa Parks Day.

Officials said riders "can ride at no charge on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries."

The fare suspension comes from RTA Board of Commissioners adopting a Fare Policy in 2022.

RTA said policy observes "both Rosa Parks Day on her Feb. 4 birthday and Claudette Colvin Day on her Sept. 5 birthday."

For more information, visit the agency’s website at norta.com or call RIDELINE at (504) 248-3900. Riders can also visit norta.com/servicealerts for any service updates and download the Le Pass app at norta.com/LePass to plan routes and purchase fares.
