Voting in New Orleans is easy thanks to RTA offering free rides on Election Day

The RTA is waiving fares on the two Saturdays of the early voting period Oct. 19, and Oct. 26 as well as on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority is making it easier to cast your vote by offering free rides to the voting booths.

The RTA is waiving fares on the two Saturdays of the early voting period Oct. 19, and Oct. 26 as well as on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Riders can ride at no charge on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries. Riders will not need to show proof of voter registration, or any RTA passes.
