NEW ORLEANS — The Rampart and St. Claude streetcar could be rolling again soon. The line has been closed since the collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel in October of 2019.
After initially scheduling a "pull test" for Thursday morning, the Regional Transit Authority was forced to delay the test until next week due to work on the overhead wires.
Officials told WWL Louisiana the tests will likely happen on Monday.
When conducted, the RTA said the tests could impact traffic on Canal Street near South Liberty.
More tests are planned in the coming weeks.
RTA said the line should reopen by May 31.
