Power restoration underway on Northshore following damage winds spawned by severe weather

As of now, it is unknown if the severe weather spawned any tornadoes.

SLIDELL, La. — Power is slowly returning to residents on the Northshore after severe storms caused damaging winds in the area Tuesday evening.

Strong winds and a suspected tornado also caused damage in parts of Tangipahoa Parish.

According to Entergy’s outage map, as of 5:00 a.m., there are still over 3,000 customers without power in Tangipahoa Parish.

In Slidell, the severe weather caused a transformer to blow, knocking power out to thousands of residents. Power has since been restored to the area. The Slidell Police Department caught the transformer blowing on dashcam video.

You can see sparks and flames from the transformer on a utility pole.

As of now, it is unknown if the severe weather spawned any tornadoes.
