BELLE CHASSE, La. — Entergy had two unexpected power outages in Belle Chasse Wednesday morning and then in the Michoud area in the afternoon.
About 6,300 customers lost power in the Belle Chasse area after a tree fell down and struck some equipment. Around 1 p.m., about 2,700 customers lost power in the Michoud area. Initially the reason for the outage wasn't given.
The westbank outage covered Terrytown, the Tall Timbers neighborhood, and Belle Chasse. A source at Entergy said problems with a tree at an Entergy power substation on Behrman Highway contributed to the power outage.
Morrell says all customers have been restored in the Michoud area, and the outage was caused by a fallen tree.
