Boil water advisory lifted for parts of Plaquemines Parish

A boil water advisory is no longer in effect from Port Sulphur to the Boothville Water Treatment Plant.

PORT SULPHUR, La. — UPDATE: The Boil Water Advisory from Port Sulphur Water Treatment Plant to Boothville Water Treatment Plant has been lifted.

Plaquemines Parish government officials posted a water outage notification on social media on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Facebook post, the outage was caused by a water line break and service was halted from the Port Sulphur Water Plant to Empire Bridge.

Upon completing repairs, a temporary boil water advisory was issued until tests proved safe for normal use and consumption.
