Kirk Lepine wins Plaquemines Parish President race

Lepine secured 52 percent of the vote, a narrow victory over Cormier.

Plaquemines Parish has a new president.

Kirk Lepine defeated incumbent Amos Cormier III in a runoff election on Dec. 8 to become Plaquemines Parish President.

Lepine secured 52 percent of the vote, a narrow victory over Cormier.

Lepine was the leader in November as well, securing 48 percent of the vote then.
