2 women arrested in Mississippi for weekend killing on Bourbon Street

Both women were located by police in Columbia, Mississippi and are awaiting extradition to New Orleans.

NEW ORLEANS — Two women have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man on Bourbon Street early Saturday morning.

Police said the two women, 22-year-old Mia Lindsey and 24-year-old Mariah Campbell were identified as suspects in the shooting. Linsey faces one count of second-degree murder, while Campbell is facing one count of being an accessory after the fact to the second-degree murder.

Both women were located by police in Columbia, Mississippi and are awaiting extradition to New Orleans.

The NOPD said that State Police, the FBI Joint Violent Task force, the Columbia, Mississippi Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Office participated in the operation.

The victim was identified as 39-year-old Christopher Oatts, Jr. 

Police said that just after 4 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Toulouse and Bourbon Streets. The victim was found with at least one gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
