NEW ORLEANS — Three men spotted with a live alligator on Esplanade Avenue in May have been cited.
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says Ediberto Sanchez, 48, Matthew Erwin, 45, and Elgein Konesheck, 48, were cited for possessing a live alligator without a permit.
The trio told officials that they found the gator near a park in Lafitte and brought it to New Orleans. Later that night, they released it into a bayou.
The citation could cost them up to $500.
