NEW ORLEANS — Saints legend Steve Gleason is back home after nearly a week in the hospital.
He was hospitalized at Oschner Medical Center during Hurricane Francine last week after he says he suffered a fever and low blood pressure.
Gleason posted an update to social media Tuesday night with his family, saying he feels "reborn."
"I've been inside for six days, so to be greeted by the full Mooooooooooooooon, the Oaks, and our family... Reborn," Gleason's tweet said.
Gleason, who has been immortalized in bronze for famously blocking a punt against the Atlanta Falcons in the Saints' first game back in the Superdome following Hurricane Katrina, played in New Orleans from 2000 to 2006.
The Congressional Gold Medal recipient was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2011.
