Rampart streetcar service set to return Sunday

It has been offline since the deadly collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel in October 2019.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority announced its 2024 summer schedule, which includes the return of the Rampart Streetcar line.

The Rampart Streetcar line has been offline since the deadly collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel in October 2019. It is set to return on Sunday, May 19.

"The line’s return is the most prominent component of the Summer 2024 Service Change," RTA says on its website.

The routes listed below will have timetable adjustments, according to RTA:

  • #9 - Broad - Napoleon
  • #51/52/53 - St. Bernard
  • #202 - Airport Express

The routes listed below will have map adjustments, according to RTA:

  • #31/32 - Leonidas
  • #114A/114B - Garden Oaks
  • #86 - St. Maurice - Chalmette
  • #105 - Algiers Local

The route below will have a detour in effect, according to RTA::

  • #66 - Hayne Loop
