NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic accident that left one man dead.
Police say it happened at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Alcee Fortier Boulevard.
Officers responded to a call about a traffic accident with injuries around 6:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a male victim unresponsive.
EMS declared the man dead at the scene.
Investigators say the driver of a van was going westbound on Chef Menteur Highway, and as they went through the intersection, they hit the victim.
The driver of the van is cooperating with the investigation, according to NOPD.
