NEW ORLEANS — Update: The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office has identified the 25-year-old male victim as 24-year-old Ahmontae Wishom and the 17-year-old female victim as Layla Scott.
A man and a 17-year-old girl are dead after a shooting in Tremé on Sunday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Police say multiple gunmen approached the victims and fired shots at them near the intersection of Esplanade and North Claiborne around 7 p.m. The male victim died at the scene and the teenage girl later died at the hospital.
No other information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
