NEW ORLEANS — The city of New Orleans will be giving out masks to those who wish to wear them while the smoke from wildfires causes a foul smell and some respiratory irritants.
A Twitter (X) post by NOLA Ready said that the masks are for residents who want them and they are especially recommended for women who are pregnant, seniors, children and pets.
The masks are available at:
N.O. East Regional Library
Joe Brown Recreation Center
Sanchez Multipurpose Center
Algiers Regional Library
On the WWL-TV Morning News, Dr. Corey Hebert said that being outside in the smoke was not optimal and especially for compromised people.
