RTA changes bus schedules in effort to cut down on delays, problems

The RTA will lengthen the time between buses on several routes in an effort to make sure the buses on the road have fewer issues.

NEW ORLEANS — The RTA is reducing the number of buses on the road and lengthening the times between them on some of the city's routes in an effort to reduce problems with buses running behind schedule due to maintenance issues.

The RTA announced Friday that starting on Sunday, Jan. 14, several routes will have more time between buses to "ensure sufficient vehicles are available to provide consistent, reliable service for riders."

In most cases the gaps between buses on the same route will be lengthened by a few minutes.

Updated schedules and other printed materials are being distributed to popular pick-up locations across the city, including the New Orleans Public Library locations, New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) facilities, and RTA’s A. Philip Randolph Building on Canal Street as well as at our hubs at the East New Orleans Regional Library and the Wilty Terminal in Gretna.
