New Orleans Civil District Court remains closed, jury selection moved

The change of location happened as a result of a fire started on the first floor. The fire was likely accidental according to Fire Department Captain Edwin Holmes.

NEW ORLEANS — Jury selection is set to happen Friday at the New Orleans City Council Chambers instead of the Orleans Parish Civil District Court at 1300 Perdido St.

The change of location happened as a result of a fire on Feb. 12 started on the first floor. The fire was likely accidental according to Fire Department Captain Edwin Holmes.

For jurors that received a summon for Friday, the required questionnaire is available to fill out online, and those requesting to defer their service must go to the council chambers.

The court was previously set to reopen on Ash Wednesday.
