Man killed in crash on Crescent City Connection

Police identified the man as 69-year-old Andrew Perrin of Lafitte.

NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana State Police say a man died in a two-vehicle crash on the Crescent City Connection Sunday morning.

Police identified the man as 69-year-old Andrew Perrin of Lafitte.

According to investigators, the crash happened around 9:00 a.m. Perrin was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla and entered US 90B east from the General DeGaulle Drive (LA 428) on ramp as a 2021 Kia Telluride was driving east on US 90B near the LA 428 interchange.

"For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota crossed all eastbound lanes and entered the Kia's path," police said.

The collision caused both vehicles to run off the road and hit a cement barrier.

Perrin was wearing seatbelt but suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Kia suffered minor injuries.

Police obtained routine toxicology samples from both drivers.
