Whether it's a jolly jaunt at a local bar or Christmas lights that make your spirits bright, get ready to sleigh the holiday season New Orleans style.

NEW ORLEANS — Whether it’s a jolly jaunt at a local bar or Christmas lights that make your spirits bright, get ready to sleigh this holiday season New Orleans style.

Several bars and hotels are offering pop-up holiday experiences that you are sure to enjoy.

On Tuesday the Roosevelt Hotel turned on their iconic Christmas hallway lights to kick off the holiday season.

“We are so happy to host the beginning of the season for the hotel and for the city,” said General Manager, Cole Wallace.

Walking through the lobby is free for everyone to enjoy and the hotel features several bars and restaurants that have themed offerings.

“We have a life-size gingerbread house that people can see," he said. "Our signature event for the year is the teddy bear tea and that happens every weekend.”

Virgin Hotels across the country, including the one in Downtown New Orleans, have been transformed into festive winter wonderlands.

Every Wednesday, with a reservation you can enjoy the ‘Mariah Carey Black Irish Holiday Bar’.

Throughout the month there will be signature cocktails, brunch, and a fun photo-opp with a life-size cutout of the singer.

And of course, you’ll hear Carey’s holiday hit ‘All I Want for Christmas.’

Another pop-up in the CBD is Spirits a Glow at the Eliza Jane Hotel.

The chic setup features a huge Christmas tree and a beautifully lit courtyard.

One of the most popular pop-ups we found was Miracle at Barrel Proof and it did not disappoint.

From the 7-foot Christmas tree hanging from the ceiling to the Christmas-themed cups that hold festive cocktails, you are sure to have a merry time.

Other local pop-ups include:

  • Bah Humbug Bar at The Bower
  • Blitzen’s Bar at the Omni Royal Orleans
  • Sippin’ Santa at Beachbum Berry’s Latitude 29.
