NEW ORLEANS — Firefighters are trying to determine what caused a three-alarm fire at the Esplanade at City Park apartments Thursday morning.
The apartment buildings were evacuated but first responders say no one was hurt. The fire was reported just before 10 a.m. and when firefighters arrived they found one apartment on fire on the second floor.
Several dozen firefighters worked to put out the flames, but they were able to contain the fire and extinguish it in about 20 minutes.
New Orleans Fire Department Captain Edwin Holmes said the second and third alarms were called because of the size of the building.
