NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police is investigating a crash on interstate on-ramp that killed a man Wednesday night.
Police received a report of a vehicle crash with injury at 8:37 Wednesday night. Upon arrival, officers found a man dead in the roadway on the eastbound on-ramp to Interstate 10 near the Howard Avenue exit.
They believe the victim was trying to cross the on-ramp when he was struck by a Kia Optima heading eastbound. The driver of the Kia Optima stayed on the scene and police say he is cooperating with them.
The road was temporarily closed as police investigated the incident.
The Orleans Parish Coroner says they will officially identify the victim after completing an autopsy and notifying his family.
