BATON ROUGE, La. -- The state fire marshal has called for a burn ban across the state of Louisiana.
Louisiana Fire marshal H. Butch Browning said extremely dry conditions in the state necessitated the ban. It goes into effect at 6 a.m. Friday.
Private burning will have to be allowed by the local fire department or government.
The ban is in effect until further notice.
