NEW ORLEANS — Bronner Brothers recognized Sadie Cook this weekend at the International Hair Show in New Orleans.
At 90 years old, Cook has been doing hair for as long as the Bronner Family has been in business.
“She was completely taken aback because everyone wanted to take a picture with her after the show, Cook's niece said.
Cook's hair journey started at just 13 years old. The popular style for children was Shirley temple curls, and adults got finger waves.
By the time she was 15 years old, she started to build her clientele.
Some of those same clients continue to come to this day but the business grew out of her mom’s kitchen and a stint in beauty school into Sadie’s Hair Salon. Sadie grew along with it, the 15-year-old stylist is now a 90-year-old beautician who is still working to keep her client’s hair in top shape.
