NEW ORLEANS, La.-- A woman living near Brechtel Park looked out her backdoor to find an alligator in her backyard Thursday morning. She said she saw the 6-foot gator walking around her pool and immediately called 911.
Cathy O'Quin said she spent a few hours on the phone trying to get someone to take care of the alligator. She said she called the SPCA, Wildlife and Fisheries, local trappers, and WWL looking for someone to retrieve the gator.
The SPCA eventually responded to the call and captured the animal with plans to turn it over to Wildlife and Fisheries.
"I have grandchildren who like to swim in the pool and I just wanted it gone," she said.
