LORANGER, La. — A 43-year-old woman was killed in a fatal car crash when her vehicle veered off the roadway and struck at tree Wednesday afternoon.
According to Louisiana State Police, Hammond native Jill Tarver was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 443 in a 2014 Toyota Camry when the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m.
Police say Tarver was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
However, a passenger in the vehicle was properly restrained, and was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.
Tarver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
