Teen arrested in shooting along Mandeville parade route

Mandeville Police said the suspect turned himself in to police and was arrested and booked.

MANDEVILLE, La. — The 17-year-old wanted in connection with a shooting along a Mandeville parade route has turned himself in to police, the Mandeville Police posted on their Facebook page Thursday.

While they did not identify the juvenile in the Facebook post, earlier this week they said they were looking for Tyryn R. Bailey for attempted second-degree murder and other weapons charges after another juvenile was injured on February 2 during the Krewe of Eve parade.

According to a previous NOLA.com report, Mandeville Police said that a teen was shot outside a McDonald's along the Krewe of Eve parade route at 9:30 p.m.

Police officials in Mandeville said the injuries were not life-threatening.

"This is certainly not the way we expected to start Mardi Gras," Mandeville Police Chief Todd Schliem told the Times-Picayune.
