SLIDELL, La. — A former Slidell police officer has been arrested for stealing prescription drugs from the department’s evidence room, Police Chief Randy Fandal announced Monday.
Todd Dillon, 48, had resigned in October after he was informed about a criminal investigation underway against him.
Dillon was booked with 15 counts of theft, 16 counts of possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance, 2 counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled dangerous substance and malfeasance in office.
“Mr. Dillon had the opportunity to seek help like any other citizen, however, he chose to break the law,” said Fandal. “He will be treated like any other criminal. I have zero tolerance for bad cops. Period.”
Dillon was booked into the Slidell City Jail. He had been with the Slidell Police Department since 2016.
