SLIDELL, La. — Slidell Police say nearly a half dozen cars were stolen from residents, some from their own driveways, over the weekend and tracking shows that they were taken towards New Orleans.
Police said that they want residents to remain vigilant and take precautions and call in any suspicious activity.
They said that the thefts seem to be happening in the overnight and early morning hours.
Over the weekend, they noted that at least five vehicles were stolen from people’s driveways. In addition there was another attempted vehicle theft, a stolen vehicle recovery that was unrelated to the five others and a business burglary.
Police said they do have development on the thefts and expect to have more information out soon.
