SLIDELL, La. — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said it has made five significant drug dealing and possession arrests recently, including two that involved children in homes with large amounts of dangerous drugs present.

In late July, detectives traced a parcel package full of marijuana to a Slidell apartment complex they said is known for drug activity and is across the street from Salmen High. The sheriff’s office said it went to the apartment seeking 23-year-old Antonio Agnew and instead found his girlfriend at home with two children who were both under the age of 5.

Detectives said they seized two dozen ecstasy tablets and other drugs and drug paraphernalia and arrested India Jasmine, 21, on an assortment of possession with intent to distribute counts. The children were turned over to a family member but the Department of Child and Family Services was contacted.

Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Agnew, who was located a week later at his mother’s home in Slidell. They said when Agnew discovered they were at the home, he ran out the back door and began jumping several fences before being arrested. An assortment of drugs and drug paraphernalia was found at the mother’s home and Agnew was booked into the parish correctional center on a number of counts.

Last week, detectives said they were investigating 46-year-old Woodrow Parker for distributing drugs and got a search warrant for his home after conducting a traffic stop. At the home, they said they found his 11-year-old grandson at home, where they also found 200 grams of marijuana, 43 grams of fentanyl, 80 grams of methamphetamine and other assorted drugs, drug paraphernalia, and stolen guns.

The 11-year-old grandson was released to a family member but the Department of Children and Family Services was also notified. Parker was booked on various drug and firearms counts.

Finally, a husband and wife in their mid-50s were arrested after a search warrant at their Slidell home revealed 20 grams of crack cocaine, marijuana, and four guns.

Both Kenneth Cousin and his wife, Lolita Cousin, were arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on various drug-related counts.

“I cannot say enough how proud I am of the men and women working in our Narcotics Division,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “They are professionals, dedicated to getting dangerous drugs off our streets and arresting the individuals responsible for bringing them into our community.”
