COVINGTON, La. -- The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said that it has taken four high-level drug dealers off of the streets during operations over the past two months.
The men are alleged to have dealt in methamphetamine, cocaine and Ecstasy, among other items.
"My focus is to get the dealers who are poisoning people off the streets," said Sheriff Randy Smith.
The men arrested and what they are booked with follows:
Justin Olivieri, 25: Detectives with the St. Tammany Narcotics task force obtained a warrant for Olivieri's Slidell home and seized four ounces of crystal meth, numerous Ecstasy pills, a small amount of marijuana and a digital scale. The street value of the narcotics was over $5,000.
Olivieri was booked with possession of methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Ecstacy and marijuana and possession of suboxone strips and drug paraphernalia.
Thomas Wesner, 59; and Raymond Oltmann Jr.: The sheriff's office said detectives had conducted a traffic stop and became suspicious of the vehicle's occupants when a K-9 alerted on the car.
Deputies found two kilograms of cocaine (street value up to $160,000), a .45 caliber pistol, hundreds of baggies and other paraphernalia used for sale and distribution of cocaine.
Wesner was charged with possession of 400 grams of cocaine, possession of a firearm in the presence of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage. Oltmann Jr. was charged with possession of over 400 grams of cocaine.
James Moore Jr., 47: Moore was indicted on federal drug charges. An investigation in conjunction with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force yielded two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, two counts of distribution of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
