Police investigating 'bold' smash and grab at Slidell Walmart

Police on the Northshore say two men entered a Walmart and started smashing electronics cases before walking away with thousands of dollars in merchandise.

According to the Slidell Police Department, the crime happened at the Wal-Mart store located on Natchez Drive early Monday morning. Police say two men entered the store armed with hammers and began shattering locked glass cases that contained electronics.

Police say one of the suspects, armed with a hammer in both hands, chased away an employee who had approached them. The two men then loaded up the merchandise, worth nearly $10,000, and fled the scene.

Police described the two suspects as black men in their 20’s or 30’s. A getaway car, described as a dark colored Kia or Hyundai, was waiting for them in the store’s parking lot.
