COVINGTON, La. — Authorities say a New Orleans man died after he was struck by a car in Covington late Tuesday.
Louisiana State Police said the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on LA 21 near LA 59.
Troopers say 71-year-old William M. Asprodites was walking in the northbound lane wearing dark clothing when he was struck by a Ford F150. State police say Asprodites suffered serious injuries and died at the hospital.
The driver of the truck was wearing a seatbelt and was not hurt in the crash. Troopers say he also submitted a breath sample that a test detected no evidence of alcohol.
