SLIDELL, La. — A 26-year-old homeless man has been arrested for arson after the sheriff’s office said he set a mobile home on fire Thursday near Pearl River.

The sheriff’s office said detectives were contacted by St. Tammany Fire District 1 following the fire in the 4800 block of Cypress Drive in the River Gardens subdivision.

Anthony Fricke was booked into St. Tammany Parish Correctional on arson counts.

Detectives said that Fricke poured gasoline on an uninhabited mobile home where he was said to have stayed on occasion in the past. It was not believed that he was staying there at the time of the fire.

The sheriff’s office said that he then set it on fire.

A warrant was issued for Fricke at that time and he was taken into custody when he was spotted in a parking lot in the 400 block of Gause Blvd Thursday.
