Pearl River man stops trial, pleads guilty to 2 counts of indecent behavior with juveniles

PEARL RIVER, La. — A Pearl River man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison on two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Branden Thibodaux, 34, pleaded guilty to the counts.

According to prosecutors, in July 2018 Thibodaux attempted to inappropriately touch a juvenile who was under the age of 12. During the investigation, a second victim was identified.

The trial was underway but following the testimony of a relative of the first victim, Thibodaux changed his plea to guilty on both counts.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison on each count. 

The Pearl River District Attorney's Office said that both of the victims and their families were in court and approved of the sentence.
