SLIDELL, La. — The Slidell Police Department says the motorcyclist that was hit at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Gause Boulevard on Monday suffered minor injuries.
Police shared a video showing a woman crash into a motorcycle that had stopped at a red light. According to Slidell PD, the woman who hit him had two dogs in the back seat who were distracting her.
"She turned around to address the dogs, and in that brief moment, the accident occurred." Slidell PD said.
Police said the man was very lucky and he was able to walk away from the scene.
Slidell Police shared the video to remind the public to be safe and attentive while driving.
"Distracted driving is more than just texting on your phone…it can consist of anything inside of your vehicle, including dogs, kids, radio, etc.," Slidell PD said.
