TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. — Louisiana State Police say a Mandeville woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on LA Hwy 22 at CC Road in Tangipahoa Parish.
Police identified the victim as 22-year-old Anjel Wilcox.
Wilcox was driving a 2008 Honda CRV southbound on CC Road toward an intersection at the same time as a 2023 Ram 2500 was westbound on LA Hwy 22, according to investigators.
"For reasons still under investigation, the Honda failed to stop at the intersection and traveled into the westbound lane of LA Hwy 22 directly into the path of the Ram. The Ram impacted the left side of the Honda," Police said in a statement.
Wilcox was wearing a seatbelt, but she had severe injuries from the crash. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the Ram was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to the hospital for moderate injuries.
