SLIDELL, La. — A 25-year-old inmate was found unresponsive inside her Slidell City Jail cell on Wednesday.
According to the Slidell Police Department, when life-saving measures were attempted, it was determined that Theresa Zar was dead.
Zar was arrested earlier this month for simple battery and a failure to appear warrant.
The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death. Slidell PD officials report that there have been no immediate signs of foul play.
However, an investigation is still ongoing.
