Causeway commuters will need to replace their toll tag soon, here is how

The old hard case toll tags will be replaced by new decal tags.

MANDEVILLE, La. — Causeway commuters will need to get a new toll tag soon.

The Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission says starting Friday, Jan. 27, the old hard case and large sticker toll tags will no longer be usable at the Causeway Bridge toll gates.

Commuters will have to stop in one of the toll tag offices on either the south shore or north shore and get it replaced with a new decal toll tag Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou says.

“Your vehicle information will be needed to process the new sticker tags.  If you have a Causeway LPC hard case tag, you may also be eligible for a credit when you receive the new decal tags," Dufrechou says.

Crossing the bridge from the north shore with a toll tag costs $3 or $5 without a toll tag. There is no toll to cross from the south shore.

Motorists can call the office at (985) 674-3641 or email them at tagsales@gnoec.org and arrange to replace the tags.
