MANDEVILLE, La. — The Louisiana State Police are investigating two separate automobile accidents on Thursday – each claimed the life of a driver.

According to the LSP, the first incident occurred at 3:45 p.m. on Louisiana  Highway 1064 near Durbin Road in Tangipahoa Parish when a 55-year-old  man driving a 2011 Nissan Altima veered offroad and struck a tree.

The crash claimed the life of Albert Johnson Jr. of Albany.

A second crash occurred at approximately 10 p.m. in St. Tammany Parish  when 35-year-old Bogalusa man, Glenn Wells,  was killed in a fatal head-on collision with another vehicle on LA Hwy 21 near Cleland Street.

Investigators say neither Johnson nor Wells were wearing their seatbelts at the time of their respective crashes.

The unnamed driver involved in the crash with Wells was properly restrained, and taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

As part of the ongoing investigation, routine toxicology samples were obtained from all drivers for analysis.
