SLIDELL, La. — A 15-year-old suspected of a Slidell crime spree that includes three business break-ins, seven stolen cars and thousands of dollars of damages to the businesses has been arrested, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
The sheriff’s office said that the crimes all occurred in January and that the teen suspect has confessed to them.
The teen is accused of stealing vaping items, dirt bikes and a golf cart from the businesses.
Deputies say they have recovered three of the stolen cars.
The suspect has been wanted by the sheriff’s office previously. The sheriff’s office said he was arrested in 2023 for a vehicle burglary.
“I thank our detectives who worked with their counterparts with the other agencies to arrest this juvenile for these crimes and to bring an end to his crime spree,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “I also thank them for the work they did to recover many of the stolen vehicles so they could be returned to their owners.”
