NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a double homicide after two teenagers were found shot dead inside a car in New Orleans East.
Police were called to the 5500 block of Michoud Boulevard at about 4:13 a.m. on Thursday. When responding officers arrived, they found the two men unresponsive in a vehicle. They had both been fatally shot.
On Monday, the Orleans Parish coroner identified the male victims as Sheldon Jefferson, 17, and Reginald Williams, 16.
Investigators are currently gathering evidence and information to identify suspects in the case.
No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official cause of death once autopsies are completed, and the family has been notified.
